Today I saw a field of sugar beets being harvested. My Grandpa Rudolf worked in sugar beet fields here in Germany when he was a young man. He even developed a sugar beet topper and applied for a patent on his invention. I’ve got the paperwork. He ended up emigrating to America where he continued farming.
